CCH Real Estate Mutual Fund Trust is managed by an independent Board of Trustees with an average of 21 years of experience in the residential real estate markets managing investment risk and developing residential real estate construction projects.
Investment decisions are reviewed and approved by an Investment Committee comprised of the Board of Trustees to ensure the investment aligns with the funds objective to maximize returns to Unitholders over a medium to long term time horizon. Since 1982, Ms Oxtoby has served as President and Director of Upper Lakes Group Inc. and President & CEO of Heritage Pointe Properties.
In 1989, she helped to amass 1,000 acres of contiguous agricultural land in the County of Foothills. From 1990 to present, under her leadership, Heritage Pointe Properties developed the master planned community of Heritage Pointe comprising 970 homes and a 27 hole world class golf facility. The residential development and golf course have received local, provincial and national awards recognizing customer service and excellence in development.
Ms Oxtoby has served on many boards and committees. From 2005 until 2013, Ms Oxtoby served on the Board of Directors for BILD Calgary (formerly CHBA Calgary Region), serving as the President of BILD from 2011-2012 and as co-chair for the BILD Economic Committee in 2016-2017. In 2009 she was the co-chair for BILD Calgary Awards of Excellence.
From 2014 to 2016, Ms Oxtoby also served on the Board of Directors for UDI Calgary. During 2015 – 2016, she co-chaired a committee that amalgamated CHBA Calgary and UDI Calgary.
On a national level, Ms Oxtoby has served on Executive Board for CHBA National from 2011- 2018 and as Treasurer for the CHBA National Board from 2013-2014.
In 2015, Ms Oxtoby was a Nominee for 100 Top Women in Canada. In 2018, she was listed as one of the Top 20 Business Leaders in Calgary and was honored with the CHBA National Member Award for volunteer time at the National level.
Mr Kozole has spent the last 12 years in the New Home Warranty Industry. Since 2018 he has acted as the CEO of Saskatchewan New Home Warranty and previously held the role of President & CEO of the Alberta New Home Warranty Program Group of Companies. He has been instrumental in restructuring and evolving both organizations respectively. This includes creating The New Home Warranty Insurance (Canada) Corporation “NHWIC” a Property and Casualty insurance company licensed in 4 provinces to underwrite home warranty, deposit protection, home completion, surety and property insurance. In addition John successfully closed a private equity offering to enhance the capitalization of NHWIC through an offering memorandum. NHWIC is part of the Alberta New Home Warranty Program Group of Companies.
Prior to and concurrently with his involvement in the Home Warranty Industry Mr. Kozole also acts as the President & CEO of Spring Edge Developments Inc. & Spring Willow Development Corporation. He was instrumental in developing the residential communities of Elkton Ridge Estates, The Shire of Spring Valley, and Spring Willow Estates located on the West side of Calgary.
As a former VP/Treasurer of Enmax Corporation and Treasurer of Saskatchewan Power Corporation he is recognized for his broad knowledge, skills and experience in risk management, corporate finance, insurance, strategic leadership and new business formation and development.
Mr. Kozole graduated from the University of Alberta in 1987 with a BA in Economics and a minor in Mathematics/Statistics. He completed an MBA from Queens University in 1999 and also holds a Certified Cash Manager Designation from the Association of Financial Professionals.
Mr Kozole currently sits on the Boards of The Canadian Home Warranty Council and Attainable Homes Calgary. He was a past Director of the Canadian Home Builders Association (Alberta).
